Mansion poker may be one of the new guys in the poker room arena, but it isn't bad at all. I checked out the site and was impressed with the professionalism and feel of the design and rooms. True looks can be decieving but in this case its one of the best rooms. Below I will outline what is hot and whats not about mansion poker.
The download
The mansion poker site offered download is simple and is an all in one download and not an exe file which might cause problems for antivirus software. Signup and depositing is simple quick and easy. With a low min deposit of £10 which is ideal for occasional players. After download free money tables are avaliable which I reccommend a quick go on just to familarise yourself with the set up.
The lobby
My feel is that the lobby needs mentioning in this review. On most poker rooms the lobby is rather full on, in your face and hard to navigate. The Mansion lobby is simple and classy. It is spread out so you can see all the information and won't click on the wrong tournament. The lobby on Mansion is by far the best for search and sorting options as well as ease of use. One missing feature is the balance of your account on show all the time but at the same time the tournament amounts are all round figures and so it is simple enough to know how well your doing.
The tables
To be honest, Mansion does not have as bigger variety of sit and go and jackpot games like other sites. However it does have a large amount of cash tables and a fairly amount of players at most times of the day. Mansion offers its tournaments differently to its fellow competitors which I for one love! Mansion takes its fees out of the prize pot and not directly from the players. This means although you win slightly less, if you don't win you get one free tournament out of 10 compared to other rooms. With regards to play on the Mansion tables, I quite like the laid back play out of the tournaments I have played. Mansion offers casino and sportsbook options and so like other sites, some of the players are really not that good and so Mansion can be a real money maker. As already mentioned above, the mansion tables are slightly different to other sites and it is reccommended a quick play on the play money tables. The software has some funky features like the ability to move your position on the table. Mansion is bespoke software and is rather snazzy looking.
Bonus amounts
Well there is a 100% signup bonus up to 650 euro. Bonus conditions are avaliable on the Mansion poker site. I personally think the best bonus with this site is the mansion 65,00 euro daily tournaments, yes I did say DAILY. To play in these daily events you can buy-in directly for 65 euro or alternatively you can enter 6.5 euro Re-buy or 13 euro Freeze-out super satellites.
My thoughts
Mansion is up there with the established names and even the smaller rooms with the best customer service and offerings. I haven't found any major problems with the site but there are several niggles that do sway me from using Mansion as my primary room. I shall be entering the 65k tourny and I will be playing on this room as I like most aspects of the site, including the ease of use and large amount of cash games. I think taking the fee out of prize money is a much better idea for new players who are still learning the game, but if your a confident player, playing high stakes then a fee to play might be better. I love Mansion for its nice features and easy players but the fact it isn't always as busy as other rooms is not as good for a tournament player like me.
Mansion has its quirks and has some good features as well as good customer service, nice big tournaments and good variety of poker games. I reccommend a good evening on the 65k tournament for a direct buy in for less than a night out and a kebab :-D
